Seaton Rail is an established professional railway safety training and assessment provider. We offer railway training courses and specialise in personal track safety.

Controller of Site Safety (COSS)

The Controller of Site Safety course is designed with the focus upon the role of the delegate within the scope of implementing and maintaining safe systems of work, whilst attaining and understanding of how to utilise the available resources required whilst 'On or Near the Line'. 

This course is essential for personnel who are to control a group of people whilst 'On or Near the Line'.

COSS Conductor Rail Permit and Live Line Testing (COSS CRP LLT)

For COSS holders who are required to receive a Conductor Rail Permit and undertake the Live Line Test, The COSS will be responsible for a group of people within 300mm of an uncovered conductor rail.

Initial training only, recertification is included in the COSS recertification.

COSS Overhead Line Permit (COSS OLP)

For COSS holders who are required to receive an Overhead Line Permit (Form C), responsible for a group of people within 2.75 metres (9 feet) of the Overhead Line Equipment (OLE).

Engineering Supervisor (ES)

This course is for personnel who are to undertake Engineering Supervisor duties including setting up a worksite within a possession and controlling engineering train movements.

Hand Trolley Controller (Non Sentinel)

For personal who will be in charge of a hand trolley (Safe Hand Trolley Use), this is a non Sentinel course and delegates will be issued with a certificate of competency valid for two years.

Individual Working Alone (IWA)

This course is for those who need to work alone 'On or Near the Line' carrying out patrolling, examining and Inspecting and undertake other duties such as Level Crossing Attendant, Points Operator, Handsignaller and Possession Support. The delegate must already hold a valid PTS certification.

Level Crossing Attendant (AOD:LXA)

To instruct delegates on correctly determining their roles and responsibilities when undertaking the duties of a Level Crossing Attendant. This person must hold a valid IWA or COSS competency.

Lookout/Site Warden

For people aged 18 years and over that are required to give a warning to others working in the railway environment when a train approaches or when people stray towards the safe working limits which the COSS/SWL has set.
